Excavation and hauling remain the focus of work at The Saint.
There will be work on site this Saturday, April 24.
Next week the focus of work will remain digging out soil and then hauling away that excavated soil.
The long-reach excavator will be replaced on Tuesday, April 27 or Wednesday, April 28. A small mobile crane will be delivered to the site and be in use during this operation. This delivery and removal is a ‘drive-off’ process that should be relatively quick and cause minimal disruption. Traffic control staff will be on-site during this process.
The working ‘floor’ of the site continues to go lower, toward the P5 level. The P6 level is the final level and when that is reached, excavation will be substantially complete. As excavation progresses, workers add lagging, the wooden panels that run between the steel shoring piles, which ensure the stability of the edges of the site.
Work will continue to start at 7 am during on weekdays next week.
The time work ends each day may vary but will remain within the standard City of Toronto construction hours.
