Construction Update for the Saint – October 5 – 12, 2024

Saturday Work

    • Reminder: work crews will be on site October 5, doing a variety of tasks to set up the following week’s work plan.
    • Crews are expected to be active on site on Saturday, October 12.  

    NEXT WEEK:

     The Site will be closed on Monday, October 14 for Thanksgiving. 

    Report of early work last Saturday.

      We had reports that a small crews starting work last Saturday, before 9 am at the Saint construction site. Minto apologizes unreservedly for this occurrence. The subcontractor and their workers have been spoken to and instructed not to do this again.

      This week’s construction outlook,
      October 7 – 11:

          • Landscaping work continues along the Church Street frontage.
          • Building Maintenance Unit installation continues. 
          • Derrick prep work continues this week.
            • NOTE: Derricks will be used to take the crane down.
          • Suite Studs are active on Level 41.
          • Tile is active on Level 27.
          • Kitchens are active on Level 25.
          • Countertops on Level 23.
          • Drywall and carpentry ongoing.
          • Rogers work to connect the site is underway and expeccted to continue through mid-October. 

        Deliveries the week of October 7 – 11:

         

          • Concrete delivery: Possibly 1 this week to support the roof work. 
          • We expect up to 2 drywall deliveries for this week.
          • We expect 1 kitchen delivery.
          • We expect 1 window delivery.
          • We expect 1 carpentry delivery.
          • We expect 1 tile delivery.
          • We expect 1 countertop delivery.
          • There may also be 1 appliance delivery.

        There will be (3) Traffic Management staff and one (1) Paid Duty Police Officer will be on site to manage traffic flows this coming week.

        Looking Ahead

        • The crane is expected to be dismantled and removed in mid to late October.
        • Move-ins to the Saint are expected to begin at the end of the year. 
        • The Hoist (external construction elevators) is expected to remain in place through 2024 and into January, 2025. 
        • Landscaping work on Lombard will follow work that is now underway on Church Street. Note that the landscaping work  does not include the area around the Hoist (external construction elevators), as it continues to operate. 
        • Our October construction liaison meeting will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at 3 pm via ZOOM.
